Want to start training at home? what will you need?

So you done with the gym's and the group classes, or perhaps you want to train in the comfort of your familiar surroundings. Luckily home training is becoming more and more popular and the best way to get familiar with fitness if you don't want to just jump head first into the gym environment.

What are the essentials for starting to train from home?

I always suggest starting with goals , get yourself a chart to note your goals that you can put against your wall along with a program to follow and make notes on to make sure you are progressing. Alternatively you can download our app to help you out.

Do not forget your comfy gym getup as you will be jumping up and down most of the time and preferably want to be comfy.

First essential to home training will always be a good Yoga mat, doesn't have to be a sealy posturepedic just some soft support. This mat you will use often especially for your crunches and floor workouts.

Secondly, dumbbells. If you starting out always start a little lighter and work your way up as you make progress. These are great for many range of motion workouts and building some lean muscle mass workout, if you find you don't have the space for dumbbells you can always go the route of resistant bands.

Don't let these fool you, not only are they great for recovery and stretching but good for toning and evolving your workouts to new heights. These also come in different strengths and varieties.

One of my Favorites is TRX ropes, these are FANTASTIC! the workouts you can do with these are endless, not to mention you use your own body weight in most of the workouts which is great. The TRX allows you to do suspended workouts which is great for challenging your body.

lastly kettlebells, these are great for the body as a whole. They also help you with balance in some workouts which is great should you want to advance your workout.

There are many other options out there like skipping ropes, and Swiss balls which has always been a winner. Just because you don't have a gym membership doesn't have to mean you cannot get a great workout in for the day. Remember use your environment as well, you will be surprised what's around you.
