What is Non-Exercise Activity Thermogenesis (NEAT) and How Does it Influence Fat Loss?

Your NEAT could be stopping your fat loss, let's talk about it. So you get 4 layers of calorie expenditure in your body and they work like this:

TEF- Thermic effect of eating, this is when you burn calories while eating. This makes up for 10%.

EAT- Excercise activity thermogenesis, this is when you do your morning training. Also 10%.

NEAT- Non-exercise activity thermogenesis, this is the one you want to focus on after your workout. This means taking the stairs instead of the lift and walking when you don't have to drive. This makes up 20%.

BMR- Basal metabolic rate, we all know this one, it's how much energy your body can expend and how much calories you need a day to maintain. Now knowing this I'm sure you would rather opt for the stairs.
